A workshop by
Liesbeth Smit, MSc

Liesbeth combines her knowledge of science communication, technology and design to teach you how to communicate better to any audience. She asks tough questions to make sure you create real impact, and she’s excited to share her decade of design experience with you.

Her workshops are brimming with practical tips that you can apply immediately to your reports, presentations, posters and infographics. By following one of Liesbeth’s workshops you will learn the skills you need to get people to pay attention to your message.

More about Liesbeth

It was very inspiring. I learned so much! Finally a good practical workshop. Liesbeth helped to declutter and debullitize the weapon of choice for every scientist that has to present: PowerPoint.

I totally changed my idea about the way I create my presentations. I learned to separate design from content, which will save me so much time! Great workshop Liesbeth. Thank you so much!

Our workshops are flexible!

Do you like our workshops, but are you looking for something slightly different? No problem! We offer our workshops in various configurations. In addition to the standard 3 to 4-hour version, we can split the workshop in two or three parts. This gives participants enough time to apply the theory to their own projects – and to receive feedback. We can also combine some workshops to create a full-day program, or fit a narrower time slot by giving a lecture highlighting the most important insights.

Let us know what you are looking for, and we can find a solution.

Configurations of
Presentation design

We can shift the focus of the workshop slightly, by using our ‘add-ons.’ These are chapters within a workshop what we can change around or give as a mini-workshop.

  • Presenting in Zoom. How do you make sure your presentation is just as engaging online as it is offline? With our tips and tricks for presenting online, for example about lighting, backgrounds, interaction and even rogue pets, you’ll be well-prepared for anything that comes your way.

You've selected more than 12 participants. We prefer 8-12 participants in a workshop so we can give everyone an opportunity to share their work and get personalized feedback. If you have a larger audience, we recommend our lectures. Each workshop can also be given as a stand-alone lecture of 1-2 hours with the theory and a bit of interaction.

How much time do you have? All our workshops are 4 hours so everyone can learn by getting personal feedback. However, if you have less time we can give a 1 to 2-hour lecture for larger groups.
